Nicholas Marketing providing digital content and marketing communications services to increase awareness of the City’s CAP
June 2024 – The City of La Crosse has chosen Nicholas Marketing to provide digital content and marketing communications services to increase awareness and engagement for the City’s Climate Action Plan (CAP) adopted in January of 2023. I will generate and post content on the City’s CAP website, CAP related content for the City’s primary website and social media, and public relations support for special events and announcements.
I provided a communications plan as part of the final CAP. The CAP is authored by paleBLUEdot, which provides comprehensive CAP plans for dozens of cities, counties, and a variety of other entities across the country.
Lewis Kuhlman, Environmental Planner for the City, contacted me when it became time to implement the CAP. “The City has made Climate Action a priority because of its importance to the long-term viability of the City and its residents,” Lewis said. “We wanted to make sure this message was communicated, so it made sense to leverage Paul’s digital content experience and familiarity with our CAP to get the word out.”
I have already produced a series of CAP-related blog posts and social media content for Lewis. I also provided planning and communications support for a Small Business Sustainability Workshop held in January, and a Workshop on Energy Efficient Buildings in May. The Workshops were highly attended and received consistent media coverage before and after the event.
